Brunch Moment: A Serif That Starts Conversations
Where Restraint Is Non-Negotiable
- Brand marks and logotypes (especially lifestyle, wellness, food, craft brands)
- Premium packaging accents — not full ingredient lists
- Invitation headlines and ceremony signage
- Social media quote graphics and announcement banners
- Merchandise with breathing room — think minimalist t-shirts, not dense pattern repeats
- Navigation menus or UI text
- Long paragraphs or blog body copy
- Low-contrast backgrounds (e.g., grey-on-grey)
- Any context demanding neutrality or urgency
Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Test in black and white first. Its warmth lives in contrast — if it fades on light cream or dark navy, adjust weight or size before adding color.
- Check small-size readability on real mockups. At 10pt on a business card, ‘a’, ‘e’, and ‘s’ close up. Stick to 12pt minimum for printed collateral.
- Compare case treatments. Lowercase feels organic and inviting; all-caps sacrifices rhythm and legibility. Title case? Use sparingly — only where emphasis justifies the slight imbalance.
- Review spacing — especially kerning pairs like ‘To’, ‘We’, ‘Av’. Some defaults need manual adjustment for tight headlines.
- Test font pairing across categories: beside a warm serif (e.g., Literata), a crisp sans (e.g., Poppins), a relaxed script (e.g., Dancing Script), a grounded handwritten font (e.g., Caveat), and a bold display font (e.g., Playfair Display). Brunch Moment holds its own with restraint — not dominance.
- Confirm commercial licensing. It’s a premium font, and while many bundles include standard licenses, verify coverage for digital products, SaaS interfaces, or resale templates — especially if you’re selling Canva or Cricut assets.
